He was a Master Mariner with over 35 years of international experience in the Shipping and Maritime Sector. He did his Masters in Marine Management from the U.S.A in 1986. And he was doing his PhD in shipping and maritime management from LIGS University USA.
He was granted the Award of “Chartered Master Mariner” by Honorable Company in 2021.
He was “Chartered Shipbroker” and obtained a Fellowship of The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers – U.K in 1986.
He was an out standing professional and administrator in his field. His dedicated hardwork has created the MTI Group where it stands today serving the training and educating marine staff.

Capt. Mahmoodi was an Honorary Consultant to the Ministry of Food & Agriculture, Govt. of Pakistan and Maritime Safety Inspector for Vanuatu Maritime Administration.
He had served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive of M/S. World Marine Shipping & Trading (Pvt) Ltd., established in 1986, and M/s. “M” International Services (Pvt) Ltd., established in 1990, from their inception. He remained actively involved in Shipping, Crewing & Manning, Trading, and various Maritime activities in Pakistan and abroad. He was also an expert in offshore and port development works such as dredging and underwater cabling.
Capt. Mahmoodi was regarded as one of the leading professional experts in Pakistan’s shipping and maritime sector. In recognition of his contributions in marine and allied fields, he was selected as an honored member of the International “Who’s Who” in 1998, and his name was included again in the 1998 edition. Later, in 2008, he was selected as an honored member of Madison “Who’s Who” for the year 2008–2009.
He is also Fellow of Nautical Institute, UK and Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistic – UK.
